Christmas morning in our house starts early. Some might say a little too early, but it always feels special to be together as the day begins.
Of course we don’t start without coffee. As you can see, Eric and I were still a bit sleepy that morning, but a warm cup helped wake us up and get the festivities rolling.
I’m a fan of serving a make-ahead strata on Christmas morning. It’s easy to prepare in advance, feeds a crowd, and feels festive. We used a strata recipe from Cooking Light and doubled it to feed everyone — that meant about 10 cups of spinach, so it was packed with vegetables. Even the pickiest eater in the family enjoyed it.
The shirt our lawyer was wearing made us laugh—what do you think: naughty or nice?
He must have been pretty good this year — thanks, Dad, for the new grill. Eric was thrilled that it even has a built-in bottle opener. It’s funny how small details can bring so much joy.
If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen that Teddy received a few presents too. I adore that pup—he’s just too cute and brings so much life to our celebrations.
It was a warm and joyful Christmas at home with family. We feel incredibly blessed by the love we share and are grateful for the many moments that bring us together. Merry Christmas — and may the spirit of the season stay with you all year long.
PS — That same strata would be perfect for New Year’s Day, too.
