That’s a Wrap!

If you normally skip the vegetables at holiday meals, these bundles will change your mind. They’re salty, savory and slightly sweet—far from the plain green beans of the past. The presentation is charming and the combination of textures keeps guests coming back for more. When I tested this recipe, people kept popping into the kitchen for bites. It’s a side dish that gets noticed and disappears fast.

There’s a little truth to the saying that the secret ingredient in home cooking is love—but in this case it’s butter and bacon. Bacon adds a rich, salty note while butter helps achieve crisp, caramelized edges. With minimal prep and about 30 minutes in the oven, this simple vegetable dish becomes a highlight of the table.
