Today’s feature is nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I first saw this cake on Instagram I was captivated. The design blends soft shades of grey fading into white to create a delicate ombre effect, while gently curved ruffles wrap each tier like petals, producing a refined, rose-like silhouette. Every frill carries a subtle flare that gives the cake movement and grace. This stunning creation comes from Charlotte Tyson of Sugar Ruffles, and it’s a beautiful example of creativity and technical skill.
About the design from Charlotte of Sugar Ruffles:
“This wedding cake was created for a couple marrying in the Lake District who wanted their cake to echo Great Gable mountain. As we developed the concept, we aimed to represent a snow-capped peak while incorporating the couple’s main wedding color, grey.”
This cake’s understated palette and organic texture make it an elegant choice for modern weddings, mountain-themed celebrations, or any event seeking a refined, romantic focal point. The ombre grey tones give a contemporary edge while the ruffled tiers retain a timeless, handcrafted charm.
A sincere thank you to Charlotte Tyson of Sugar Ruffles for sharing this dreamy design and inspiring bakers and couples alike with her work.
