A delicious bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich for just 225 calories. Healthy eating made super easy!

You might assume a bacon sandwich is an occasional treat, but with a few simple swaps you can enjoy a lighter BLT more often. This version clocks in at about 225 calories and is quick to assemble.
Here’s what I use to keep the sandwich tasty yet lower in calories:

Sandwich Thins – Thin sandwich rounds are a great shortcut. They’re light on calories (around 100) and come in white or wholemeal.
Turkey Rashers – Smoked turkey rashers give that smoky, bacon-like flavour with far fewer calories (about 34 per rasher).
Tomato and Lettuce – Fresh tomato and crisp lettuce are essential for a classic BLT texture and freshness.
Mayo and Dijon Mustard – Stir a small amount of mayo with Dijon mustard for a zesty, creamy spread that lifts the sandwich without adding too many calories.

If you prefer to skip the turkey rashers, try an ELT instead – Egg, Lettuce and Tomato. It’s just as satisfying and similar in calories. For a fuller indulgence, add both egg and turkey rashers for a hearty bacon-and-egg BLT.
